However, a woman named Gothel had been looking after that flower and had been using it for centuries to keep her young and beautiful. Rapunzel is an 18-year-old young woman who was kidnapped and locked away in a tower for the majority of her life. She was born to the king and queen of Corona the queen became gravely sick during pregnancy, and so was given a magical golden flower to eat in order to save her and Rapunzel.
